Notes

Storage: Store bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months; thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Make-Ahead: The blondie batter and cream cheese mixture can be prepared separately and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before assembling and baking; let them come to room temperature for easier spreading. Variations: Fold 1 cup of chocolate chips or chopped nuts into the blondie batter. For a lemon twist, add 1 tablespoon of lemon zest to the cream cheese mixture. Serving: Serve chilled or at room temperature. They are delicious plain or with a dusting of powdered sugar.
