Ingredients

  • 1 medium ripe avocado pitted and peeled
  • 1 large frozen banana sliced before freezing for easier blending
  • 1.5 cups unsweetened almond milk or any plant-based milk
  • 1 cup fresh baby spinach packed
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds for extra fiber and omega-3s
  • 0.5 tsp pure vanilla extract optional for flavor depth
  • 1 tbsp raw honey optional, or one pitted medjool date
  • 0.5 cup ice cubes if a frostier texture is desired

Notes

For the best results, use a very ripe avocado to ensure a buttery texture. You can meal prep this by placing the spinach, banana, and avocado in a freezer-safe bag. To store leftovers, keep in an airtight mason jar for up to 24 hours, though some oxidation (browning) may occur. Add a squeeze of lemon juice to help maintain the bright green color.
