Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries provides a deep purple color and extra antioxidants
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt plain, unsweetened for probiotics
  • 2 tbsp elderberry syrup high-quality, alcohol-free syrup
  • 0.5 cup almond milk unsweetened; add more for thinner consistency
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice freshly squeezed for brightness
  • 0.5 tsp lemon zest adds aromatic citrus oils
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger peeled and finely grated
  • 1 tbsp raw honey optional, to balance the tartness of the lemon
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds for added fiber and omega-3s

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute the Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt and use maple syrup instead of honey. This smoothie is best enjoyed immediately but can be stored in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to 12 hours; shake well before drinking as chia seeds may thicken the mixture over time.
