  • 1 cup kale stems removed, packed
  • 1 medium green apple cored and chopped
  • 1/2 medium cucumber peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro packed
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice about 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger peeled and grated
  • 1 tsp ground flaxseed
  • 1/2 medium ripe banana frozen for creaminess
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

Notes

Storage: Best consumed immediately. If needed, store in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours; shake well before drinking as separation may occur. Make-ahead: Pre-chop and bag all solid ingredients (except banana) and freeze; add to blender with liquid when ready. Variations: Substitute almond milk with coconut water for extra hydration, spinach with Swiss chard, or add 1/4 avocado for creaminess.
