Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 medium Honeycrisp or Gala apples peeled, cored, and diced into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1.5 cups Unsweetened almond milk or any dairy-free milk
  • 0.5 cup Rolled oats provides thickness and fiber
  • 1 tbsp Maple syrup adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon extra for dusting
  • 0.25 tsp Ground nutmeg freshly grated is best
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract pure extract
  • 1 tbsp Almond butter for creamy healthy fats
  • 0.5 cup Hot water to adjust consistency

Notes

For a protein boost, add a scoop of collagen peptides or vanilla protein powder before blending. To make ahead, sauté the apples the night before and store in the fridge; simply reheat them with the milk before blending in the morning. This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh as the oats will continue to thicken the drink as it cools.
