Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1.5 tsp ceremonial grade matcha powder sifted to remove lumps
  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk canned or refrigerated carton
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or water for a lighter consistency
  • 1 large frozen banana peeled and sliced before freezing
  • 2 whole Medjool dates pitted and soaked in warm water for 5 minutes
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds for added protein and omega-3s
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract pure extract preferred
  • 1 cup ice cubes optional, for a thicker slushy texture

Notes

For the best flavor, use ceremonial grade matcha which is less bitter than culinary grade. To make this ahead, blend everything except the ice and store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours; shake vigorously before drinking. If you prefer a lower-sugar version, replace the dates with a few drops of liquid stevia or monk fruit sweetener.
