Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen strawberries unsweetened
  • 1.5 cups plain low-fat kefir ensure it contains live active cultures
  • 1 medium banana ripe, for creaminess
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds for added fiber and omega-3s
  • 1 tsp honey optional, or maple syrup
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract pure extract for aroma
  • 0.25 cup water only if needed to adjust consistency

Notes

For the best texture, use frozen fruit instead of ice cubes to avoid diluting the flavor. This smoothie is best consumed immediately to benefit from the live probiotics, but can be stored in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 12 hours. If storing, shake well before drinking as separation is natural. For a vegan version, substitute kefir with coconut milk kefir and use maple syrup.
