  • 1 lb fresh strawberries hulled and halved
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice about 1 large lime
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract optional for floral depth
  • 2 cups ice cubes for serving
  • 0.25 cup fresh mint leaves for garnish
