  • 1.5 lb lean ground turkey 93% lean recommended
  • 2 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
  • 1 large yellow onion finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can black beans 15oz, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can kidney beans 15oz, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can pinto beans 15oz, rinsed and drained
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes canned, fire-roasted preferred
  • 2 tbsp ground cumin for deep earthy flavor
  • 1 tbsp chili powder mild or medium heat
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp dried oregano Mexican oregano if available

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. This chili freezes beautifully for up to 3 months. For extra spice, add a diced jalapeƱo with the onions. Serve with cornbread or over brown rice for a complete meal.
